Sierra Almagrera? is an oak-aged red that combines wild mountain fruit, aromatic herbs, and a very distinctive hint of sea breeze: a well-balanced wine, with breadth and a balsamic finish. VINEYARD AND SOIL Vineyards on the foothills of Sierra Almagrera with reddish clay-sandy soils formed by the decomposition of rocks and minerals from old silver and iron mines. PRODUCTION AND AGING Hand selection of the healthiest grapes, fermentation in stainless-steel tanks, and ageing for 12 months in French oak; additional resting in caves under controlled conditions. 14.5% vol. TASTING NOTE Ruby with a bluish rim. Aromas of wild strawberry, lavender, and thyme; cinnamon and silky toasted notes. Palate with a sea-breeze sensation, oils/unctuous notes, and a long, fruity, balsamic finish. SERVICE AND PAIRING Ideal with grilled cuisine, meat stews, aged cheeses, and dishes with Mediterranean herbs.
